The Depot Conference Center
Columbus, Ohio

Nestled along the Chesapeake Southern rail line in Northwest Columbus, the Depot Conference Center is a railroad depot that was originally constructed in Brice, Ohio in 1880. For its new use as a state-of-the-art meeting facility the wood-frame building was disassembled and moved in pieces to its new site where it was meticulously put back together and completely renovated. The design takes full advantage of the building's original spaces and architectural details to create a strong identity. The conference area ceiling is original red pine bead board and the floors are hand-hewn hickory. The walls came from a 150-year-old Quaker church and the slate for the roof came from a 200-year-old barn. The site of the conference center features a 1909 Vermont Central caboose for more intimate gatherings, a Vulcan saddle tank locomotive, and a miniature 1/3 scale locomotive with cars from the Scioto Valley Railroad that seats up to 25 riders and encirlces the property.

The near future will welcome a 1951 Great Northern White Pines Lake Dining Car available for conference meal service, "Car 100" the private car of the Ringling Brothers Circus intended for use as a bed and breakfast, and a second depot building, featuring a round waiting room, to be moved to the site from Prospect, Ohio.
